Because of the number of vacationers from the Washington DC area we have been given the title of "The Nation´s Summer Capital". Rehoboth Beach is situated so that we are only two or three hours from Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia. People are drawn to this area for many reasons but mainly it is for the beach and boardwalk.

Rehoboth´s sandy beaches are frequently ranked very high in national reviews and publications. They are well protected by a beach patrol that has had much competitive success and an outstanding lifesaving record.

The wooden boardwalk extends about one mile along the beachfront. There are restaurants, hotels, shops and amusements along its path. It was listed in the "Best of America Boardwalks" in May 2006.

Rehoboth Beach was chosen by AARP magazine in their article "Best Places to Retire"in the July 2006 issue.  There are over seventy restaurants and many boutiques to visit.
